Use this product if you fill your boiler with
well water without the capability of pre-softening
the water. This process will help eliminate mineral
scale accumulations that cause inefficiencies
and corrosion within your system. It is very important
that you then properly treat with chemical (Treatment
Solution 101) and maintain proper chemical level
at all times, especially with softened water.
The cartridge (not pictured) that contains the
cation resin can be disposed of after use and
replaced with an new cartridge. The housing (pictured)
is meant to be reused and should last the lifetime
of your boiler. The cartridge fits within the
housing. The housing includes threaded fittings
that allow connection to an ordinary garden hose
for convenience. Also works great for a spot free
rinse when your wash your car.
Directions for use:
Place a new cartridge in the housing. Hand tightened
to seal. Connect the housing to your garden hoses and
fill. It is that simple. Ultimately cartridge resin
capacity depends on your well water Hardness. Regardless,
filling even partially with softened water will be very
beneficial. One cartridge should be allowed for each
200-300 gallons of fill water.
Sold as a complete unit. Replacement cartridges are
available.
