40% higher thermal resistance than standard PE. Z-Supply is the only underground supply manufacture to give you the Silverfoam advantage. We have it manufactured for us to our specifications and laminate the radiant barrier to it ourselves. This way we control the quality, and at Z Supply, it is all about quality. eZe-Flex Silver is wrapped tightly with three full (and in some places 4) wraps of Silverfoam and at least two layers of radiant barrier. The radiant barrier in our insulation reflects between 95% and 98% of radiant energy  The foam is closed cell which is impervious to water. It is securely taped and all is encased snugly within an extra heavy duty, co-extruded, outer pipe. Remember, the thermal properties of our Silverfoam PE is one of several factors in a well-designed insulated underground supply and a 40% advantage in that property will not translate to an equal advantage in the complete product. It does mean that eZe-Flex Silver is made with the finest components.

We wanted an outer pipe that would assure a quality product. Our main reason for choosing a light color outer pipe is quality control. If a black pipe has a hole from the manufacturer or shipping it is very easy to miss. But with our pipe a hole will stand out like a sore thumb and helps us both avoid the disaster of a waterlogged system. In addition light color reflects UV which weakens plastic and becomes a problem when dealers store product outside. We settled on this co-extruded pipe after extensive research. The manufacturer has a long history of making quality product that is resistant to cracks and backs this pipe with a 25 year warranty. Co-Extruded means that there are two layers, one of standard plastic and the outer of virgin materials. Even though it is heavier than most other outer pipes by 5 to 10  grams per foot it retains good flexibility.

Heavy duty outer layer resists damage but is less flexible and black color makes quality control more difficult. Expanded PU foam is an effective insulator but makes use of a Radiant Barrier impossible. Expanded foam adheres to pex making installation more difficult. NO RADIANT BARRIER. Radiant energy will migrate to the outer layer where it will be lost as heat to the surrounding ground. Cost twice as much to achieve similar results. Most popular brand is made in Europe.
